Roasted Maple Brussels Sprouts
Who knew brussel sprouts could taste amazing.
Remember these little babies served up as a child usually boiled to within and inch of their lives ….. EW.
I actually didn’t believe these would be anything special, well turns out I was completely mistaken …they are to die for good !
Roasting veggies is always better in my book and these are no exception, it completely changes the taste and texture of brussels sprouts.
When I say I disliked Brussels sprouts I wasn’t kidding I actually despised them …. so when these entered my life I was in shock at how different they tasted being roasted.
So if you are a hard core I hate Brussels sprouts person then I totally dare you to try these and see what you think, I swear your gunna be shocked !
1 pound brussel sprouts (trimmed and outer leaves discarded)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3 tbs real maple syrup
1/2 tsp rock salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper *optional
Preheat oven to 400 f
Cut trimmed Brussels sprouts in half
Mix Brussels spouts with oil and salt (cayenne if using) until fully coated
Spread sprouts on a baking sheet so they are not touching each other
Roast for about 20 min flipping half way *until browning and tender when poked with a fork
Pour the maple syrup over the Brussels sprouts and stir gently to coat
Roast for 5 more min until nice and browned
