Slow Cooked Perfect Meatballs

OMG these are absolutely amazing ! These slow cooked meatballs are possibly the most tasty recipe I have ever made. we served them as is with a bit of grated parmesan and a side of warm French bread. 

As with most slow cooked meals the next day is actually better, so if you have any left over a warm meatball sub will knock your socks off !

Slow Cooked Perfect Meatballs

These are great to freeze ……. if you can keep them long enough !

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef or half and half with ground pork

1 tbs olive oil

1 onion minced

4 garlic cloves minced

1 cup panko crumbs or Italian bread crumbs

2 tbs parsley chopped

1 tbs paprika

2 eggs

1/3 cup fresh oregano, finely minced

1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated

1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste

salt and pepper

6 cups tomato sauce

1/4 cup red wine

1 tbs brown sugar

Directions

In a large bowl using your hands mix together Ground beef or pork, onions, garlic, panko crumbs (or bread crumbs), parsley, paprika, eggs, oregano, salt, pepper, parmesan and 1 tbs of tomato paste.

Lightly grease a baking pan (deep enough too add the sauce also) and turn oven too broil.

Form mixture into 2 inch meatballs and place on your lightly greased pan.

Broil meatballs on high until browned on each side about 3-5 min  on each side.

Reduce heat to 300.

Whisk together  tomato sauce remaining tomato paste and red wine together, and pour over the meat balls.

Cover and cook for 2 hours, after 1 hour uncover and cook for the remaining hour.
